THE BLACK TAJ-MAHAL
Shah Jehan decided to construct another Taj Mahal in black marble
on the other side of the river Yamuna and to connect the two by a bridge.As recorded by Tavernier that Jehan began to build his own tomb on
the other side of the river but the war with his son Aurangzeb interrupted
his plan.
However, excavations carried out in the 1990s found that they were discolored white stones that had turned black

OAK's Story :

Professor P.N. Oak, author of Taj Mahal: The True Story, claims that the Taj Mahal is not Queen Mumtaz Mahal's tomb, but an ancient Hindu temple palace of Lord Shiva , worshipped by the Rajputs of Agra city.
Oak discovered that the Shiva temple palace had been usurped by Shah Jahan from then Maharaja of Jaipur, Jai Singh. Shah Jahan then remodelled the palace into his wife's memorial. In his own court chronicle, Badshahnama, Shah Jahan admits that an exceptionally beautiful grand mansion in Agra was taken from Jai Singh for Mumtaz's burial.
He claims, Taj Mahal means Tejo-mahalaya, ( Shiva's Palace ).He also claims
Professor Marvin Miller of New York took samples from the riverside doorway of the Taj. Carbon dating tests revealed that the door was 300 years older than Shah Jahan. and European traveller Johan Albert Mandelslowho visited Agra in 1638 (only seven years after Mumtaz's death), describes the life of the city in his memoirs, but makes no reference to the Taj Mahal being built.
Oak also points out a number of design and architectural inconsistencies that support the belief that the Taj Mahal is a typical Hindu temple

Was Graham Bell real inventor of Telephone?

Alexander Graham Bell, has long been touted as the inventor of the telephone, but this fact has recently been disputed. Bell's first design was a piano that could transmit its music to a distance using electricity. He went on to study at Boston University, where he eventually developed a telephone that could transmit articulate speech.
Some years before Bell, Italian-born inventor Antonio Santi Giuseppe Meucci created an apparatus that could transfer voice to a distance. All he wanted was a way of communicating between the basement and the first floor of his Staten Island home.
In most of Europe, Meucci is officially considered the inventor of the telephone, as established by the Enciclopedia Italiana di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. In June 2002, the United States House of Representatives passed a symbolic bill officially recognizing Meucci as the foremost inventor of the telephone.

In 2002 the U. S. House of Representatives passed a resolution recognizing Meucci's accomplishment and which stated that "if Meucci had been able to pay the $10 fee to maintain the caveat after 1874, no patent could have been issued to Bell." However others disagreed with the resolution, with the Government of Canada unanimously passing a motion 10 days later stating that Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone.
Meucci set up a form of voice communication link in his Staten Island home that connected the basement with the first floor. He submitted a patent caveat for his telephone-like device in 1871, which he chose not to renew after 1874. According to Meucci historian G.E. Schiavo: "Meucci was not granted a patent , but a caveat, a kind of provisional patent. Anybody could get a caveat, even if the invention was worthless." In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell patented the electro-magnetic transmission of vocal sound by undulatory electric current.

New species of frog

Scientists have discovered a new bright reddish-orange-coloured frog with multiple glands and extremely short limbs from the highest mountain peak of the Western Ghats.

The newly discovered species, located in the Eravikulam National Park, is restricted to less than three sq. km on the summit of Anamudi and deserves immediate conservation priority, scientists said in the latest edition of Current Science.

“Despite intensive searches in a suitable habitat close to the type locality, we were unable to locate this species in any other place,” said the team — comprising S.D. Biju of Delhi University and Franky Bossuyt of the Free University of Brussels — which has assigned the frog the name Raorchestes resplendens.

The other members of the team include Yogesh Shouche of the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, Alain Dubois of the France-based Reptiles et Amphibians, and S. Dutta from North Orissa University.

Macroglands

“One of the most striking features of the frog is the presence of numerous macroglands, which is absent in all species of Philautus, Pseudophilatus and Raorchestes presently known and thus are derived characters,” the scientists said.

The first part of the generic name of this relative of the shrub frogs honours Professor C.R. Narayan Rao (1882-1960) for his contributions to the study of amphibians. Professor Rao taught zoology at Central College here.

The latter part of the name Raorchestes is based on the first-ever generic name coined for frogs — Orchestes.

The scientists found that the female buried eggs under the moss-covered forest floor, deep inside the base of bamboo clumps. Later, they observed the eggs hatching from what looked like glass bubbles in their lab.

The observations have also suggested that the female may mate with multiple males or breed more than once in a single season.

“The short limbs have resulted in a much more pronounced crawling behaviour in this species compared to its congeners,” the researchers added.

Dr. Bossuyt and Professor Biju previously discovered a purple frog with a bulbous body and pointy snout in the peaks of the Western Ghats. They analysed the amphibian's DNA and demonstrated that its closest living relatives were the so-called ‘Sooglossids frogs' of the Seychelles.

The species, dubbed Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis, diverged from the Sooglossids about 130 million years ago, prior to the break-up of India and the Seychelles around 65 million years ago.
